Meet the team
Dennis Champ

Dennis is a Canadian now living in Asia, making it his base of operations three years ago. A long time diver and accomplished underwater photographer, his passion to record the complex beauty of the ocean environment has led him on a journey throughout the world. At home with all marine creatures from sharks and whales to the tiniest macro subjects he also has a love of wrecks and the moody, mysterious images they produce.
His home is now the Philippines where he fell in love with the gentle, smiling faces of the people and the terrific diving. He resides just outside of Manila with his wife Amie and their two wonderful daughters.
Amiable and easy to laugh, Dennis is more interested in photography than technical diving. He has well over 2,000 dives but not many as a tech diver and that type of diving is far different than the long, solo and relatively shallow dives he is used to.
Dennis is good friends with Matt and Mike, all living in the Philippines as expats. He’s taken courses from Mike and Matt but he is not as enamoured with deep 'tech' diving as they are. He is dreading the training regime that lies ahead to bring him up to the certification levels required to make some of the deep dive expeditions the team have planned. If his past training with Matt and Mike is any indication, the next step won't be easy.
With sometimes different goals for his dives, he watches most arguments with amusement, sneaking a few shots here and there for a chuckle over a few drinks later. Then, while the rest of the team is still on board bickering about the dive plan, he is the one in the water taking photographs of the sharks.
He has a few reservations about being on a team with all Brits. He will have to learn their language and try to understand their oddball humour. He has been watching Monty Python videos on Youtube for research and has been actively searching for a British to Canadian dictionary.
